Welcome to Journey Within

Journey Within is a sanctuary where women are encouraged to explore their inner strength, find their balance, and embrace their authentic selves. My mission is to foster a community of empowered, centred, and genuine women, contributing to a society where each woman stands tall in her truth.

My foundation rests upon three core principles: authenticity, abundance, and integrity. I honour the unique journey of each woman, valuing the beauty found in embracing one's true self. Cultivating a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity, and  above all, I uphold integrity, nurturing an environment of trust, honesty, and respect.

Salaam!

My name is Suad

I am the Psychotherapist, Clinical supervisor, Menstrual Mentor and workshop Facilitator at Journey Within.

I am so honoured to work with women as my life's work and I hope you find something here that inspires you.

  • Who do you work with?
I work one to one and in groups with adult women. I don’t work with men, couples, families or people under the age of 18. If you would like to access therapists for those groups I recommend approaching BACP, MCAPN and BAATN directory.
  • How do I start therapy with you?
The journey with me begins with a 30 minute phone call, this is a chance for us both to hear each other; for you to share more about your work and for me to explain more about my approach. This is also a good time to determine if I have the capacity to support you and for you to get a sense of how it feels to speak with me. The best way to get in touch with me for a call is via email on connect@journeywithinuk.com
  • How does therapy with you work?
I work with clients once a week, at the same time and day. The sessions are 50 minute long. I offer sessions during the week (Morning, afternoon and evening) The first session is a full consultation to hear about your history, your current circumstances and exploring further what you need from therapy. We will do a review of our work at the 6 week mark to touch base with how you feel it is going and how we will continue. if we decide to continue, we will be reviewing our sessions periodically from thereon in. The sessions are led by you, your agenda. I will offer psychological education, tools and resources which may be helpful. I will also encourage you to do a home practice when appropriate. Good self care practices are a key foundation for your healing outside of our sessions, we will explore this in the first few sessions of our journey.
  • What are the fees?
The fee is £60 per session for online sessions and £75 for in-person sessions based in London (London Bridge, SE1). Walk and Talk sessions are £70 and take place a central London park. PMS Mentoring sessions are £70 for online sessions. I offer a limited number of sessions on a sliding scale fees for clients on a low income.
  • I am in crisis or need urgent help?
I do not offer emergency services or crisis therapy sessions. Please approach the following organisations for support: call 999, NHS mental health helpline, Samaritans and Muslim Youth Helpline.
  • What if I want to terminate or take a break from my sessions?
You are free to terminate or take a break at sessions at any time. I encourage you to reflect on the 'why' behind your decision. I am committed to your wellbeing and sensing into your own intuition, so I welcome you bringing your thoughts and decisions into the session. I will offer a final termination session to wrap up and close our work, although this would be helpful, you are not obligated to take the offer.
  • What can I expect from the therapeutic journey?
Here are points of reflections from my previous work with clients about what to expect: In the first few sessions it is normal to feel nervous, especially if you're not used to speaking about yourself. This can ease over time as you get more comfortable. I encourage you to bring this into the session for us to explore together. Therapy is not a 'fix' or a linear journey - processing and make sense of our experiences, doing the work to re-wire our nervous system and learning new tools and practices will take time. it is not a quick fix! Therapy is a rewarding experience, it can be a place to release, be seen, heard and understood. It is also important to consider when working with heavy emotional topics, there can be sessions/periods which can be challenging, draining and tiring. I endevour to support you to put together a post session toolkit to support your process. 'Healing' doesn't have to be a 24 hour job. it can be healthy and grounding to compartmentalise your emotional work in the sessions or for short periods during the week and spend the rest of your time relaxing and being present in your life. Being present in joy, gratitude or simply the moments of mundaneness... this time off the heavy work will make your therapauetic goals more sustainable. The journey of therapy is about making contact with your authentic intuition, rather than giving you advice or telling you what to do, I endevour to support you to make sense of your own story/conflicts so you can come to decisions which are right for you. The more intimate we get with our internal wise voice, the more accessible that voice is to us when we need it way past the time in therapy.
