Welcome to Journey Within

Journey Within envisions societies of empowered and nurtured women who embrace & stand in their wholeness.

Through the Tree Branch

Journey Within commits to leading with openness, courage and vulnerability.

I will  show up as my true self, to be present and encourage other women to  live authentically.

Journey Within holds spaces of abundance, nurturing and nourishment.

Spaces for women who become clear, grounded and self compassionate. Women who tune into their inner world and have a close intimacy with their wisdom.

I commit to speaking and acting from a place of integrity, truth and honesty at all times.

I encourage women I hold space to also be and speak from their own space of integrity.

Who do you work with?

I work one to one and in groups with adult women online at the moment. I don’t work with men, couples, families or people under the age of 18. If you would like to access therapists for those groups I recommend approaching BACP, MCAPN and BAATN directory.

How do I start therapy with you?

The journey with me begins with a 15 minute phone call, which is a chance for us both to hear each other; for you to share more about your work and for me to explain more about my approach. This is also a good time to determine if I have the capacity to support you and for you to get a feel if it feels safe/good to speak with me. The best way to get in touch with me for a call is via emial on connect@journeywithinuk.com

How does therapy with you work?

I work with clients once a week, at the same time and day. The sessions are 50 minute long. I offer sessions during the week and on one weekend (Morning, afternoon and evening) The first session is a full consultation to hear about your history, your current circumstances and exploring further what you need from therapy. We will do a review of our work at the 6 week mark to touch base with how you feel it is going for you and how we will continue. if we decide to continue, we will be reviewing our sessions periodcially from thereon in. The sessions are led by you, your agenda. I will offer perspectives, tools and resources which may be helpful. I will also encourage you to do a home practice when appropriate. Good self care practices are a key foundation of your work outside of our sessions, we will explore this in the first few sessions of our journey.

What are the fees?

The fee is £60 per session. I offer a limited number of sessions on a sliding scale fees for clients on a lower income.

I am in crisis or need urgent help?

I do not offer emergency services or crisis therapy sessions. Please approach the following organisations for support: call 999, NHS mental health helpline, Samaritans and Muslim Youth Helpline.

What if I want to terminate or take a break from my sessions?

You are free to terminate or take a break at sessions at any time. I encourage your to reflect on the 'why' behind your decision. I am committed to your wellbeing and sensing into your own intuition, so I welcome you bringing in into the session. You can let me know of your intention to terminate in the session or via email. I will offer a final termination session to wrap up and close our work, although this would be helpful you are not obligated to take the offer.

What can I expect from the therapeutic journey?

Here are points of reflections from my my previous work with clients about what to expect:

  • In the first few sessions it is normal to feel nervous, especially if you're not used to speaking about yourself. This will ease over time as you get more comfortable. I encourage you to bring this into the session for us to explore together.
  • Therapy is not a 'fix' or a linear journey - processing and make sense of our experiences, doing the work to re-wire our nervous system and learning new tools and practices will take time.
  • Therapy is a rewarding experience, it can be a place to be release, be seen, heard and understood. It is also important to consider when working with heavy emotional topics, there can be sessions/periods which can be challenging, draining and tiring. I endevour to support you to put together a post session toolkit to support your process.
  • 'Healing' doesn't have to be a 24 hour job. it can be healthy and grounding to compartmentalise your emotional work in the sessions or for short periods during the week and spend the rest of your time relaxing and being present in your life. Being present in joy, gratitude or simply the moments of mundaneness... this time off the heavy work will make your therapauetic goals more sustainable.
  • The journey of therapy is about making contact with your authentic intuition, rather than giving you advice or telling you what to do, I endevour I to support you to make sense of your own story/conflicts so you can come to decisions which are right for you. The more intimate we get with our internal wise voice, the more accessible that voice is to us when we need it way past the time in therapy.
